EKU Summer Art & Design Institute
The Department of Art & Design at Eastern Kentucky University will host a Summer Art & Design Institute for High School students, grades 9–12th.
Aspiring artists and designers will experience creating in state of the art university studios. Receiving individual attention, each student will be guided by internationally prominent EKU faculty. Immersed in artistic invention in pursuit of expanding their creative practice students will explore a variety of new media, and focus on their unique ideas to build an outstanding college entrance portfolio. Students will be mentored and challenged, experiencing an authentic taste of what it is like to pursue a career in an art or design field.
This weeklong program is carefully crafted to build creative skills, portfolios, and develop personal artistic voices.
Programs: Specialties will include, but are not limited to, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Metals/Jewelry,
and Graphic Design.
Tuiton: Register before May 15th to receive an early bird discount, $290. After May 15, $325.
Lunch: Lunch will be provided daily as part of tuition at
the Powell Student Center.
Final Friday: Student exhibition at Giles Gallery & Cerificate Cermony.
